Stephan Murphy
Stephan served as Managing Director at JP Morgan Asset Management for 10 years, working with Institutional Sales & Marketing and Client Advisory Team for over 150 pension funds with $9 billion in AUM. His leadership generated $35 million in annual revenue and facilitated $2-$3 billion in sales.
Prior to this, Stephan served as Director of Marketing & Business Development during the formation of Junius Real Estate Partners, where he developed marketing strategies, managed client and consultant interactions, and represented the firm at major industry conferences, including ULI, PREA, AFIRE, IREI, and ExpoReal.
Before joining the Junius RE executive team, Stephan was Vice President and Executive Director at JP Morgan Global Real Assets, where he managed over 90 client relationships and generated $2.5 billion in new AUM across five products.
Between 1998 and 2006, Stephan served as Vice President and Head of Development & Engineering Services at JP Morgan Global Real Assets, building and managing a team of engineers and construction professionals to oversee the due diligence process for over $9 billion in real estate assets and $5 billion in development projects throughout the USA, Europe, and India. His role also involved asset management, capital improvements, leasing, and investor relations.
Earlier, as Director of Engineering Services at The O’Connor Group, he established the Engineering Services Department and led major projects, including a $100 million repositioning of a 1.4 million sq ft office building and mall expansions/renovations.
Stephan also holds the position of Managing Director, Capital Markets at Knapp Investors, a Knapp Capital Management Company. Knapp Capital Management (KCM) is a vertically integrated real estate investment, management, technology and services firm centered around culture. KCM leverages technology to enhance the efficiency and productivity of its acquisition and management teams, ultimately driving greater scalability, quality, and faster execution.
Stephan’s strengths are grounded in his ability to build, lead, and support managed portfolios and assets, including capital improvement programs, leasing, tenant improvements, repositioning, expansion, and disposition of investments.
